Reps. Jim Jordan and Mark Meadows sent a letter to House Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings asking him to convene a hearing with Horowitz “as soon as possible” to “examine the report about Comey’s misconduct.”
Although Horowitz concluded that Comey made an “unauthorized disclosure of sensitive investigative information” and condemned him for using official FBI records to “achieve a personally desired outcome,” which all violates FBI policies, it is not clear as to the reason the DOJ has refused to prosecute Comey
SEE TWEET WITH LETTER TO CUMMINGS:
After the release of the report, President Trump said the Department of Justice’s decision to not prosecute former FBI Director James Comey reflected well upon Attorney General Bill Barr, while also saying that Comey “got Lucky!”
“The fact that James Comey was not prosecuted for the absolutely horrible things he did just shows how fair and reasonable Attorney General Bill Barr is,” Trump tweeted. “So many people and experts that I have watched and read would have taken an entirely different course. Comey got Lucky!”
